Platform Updates: July 17, 2026

By EntryThingy Team

This week brought one big new feature for artists, a meaningful search improvement for galleries, and several fixes for things that were silently going wrong. Here's what changed.

Build Your Portfolio Site, Your Way

The portfolio site builder got a serious upgrade. You can now choose from multiple themes and layouts, add a tagline, set a custom URL, and control whether your prices show up publicly.

These aren't huge changes on their own, but together they give you a lot more control over how your work looks to the world. Your portfolio is often the first thing a gallery or collector sees — it should feel like you.

Try it out: Head to your profile and open the portfolio site settings. Play with the themes and layouts until something clicks.

Artist Showcase Search Is Smarter Now

Galleries use the Artist Showcase to browse and discover artists. The search wasn't great before — it only matched names in a very literal, exact way. Now it's more flexible. Partial names, alternate spellings, and names with special characters all work better.

If you've ever felt like you weren't showing up in searches the way you should, this should help.

For galleries: Go browse your Artist Showcase and try a few searches. You'll notice the results feel more natural.

For artists: Make sure your profile name is filled in and up to date — that's what galleries are searching.

Fixes Worth Knowing About

A few bugs got squashed this week that were causing real frustration:

  • Duplicate portfolio pieces on submission — When you submitted an entry, some pieces were being added to your portfolio twice. That's fixed. Your portfolio should stay clean without any extra cleanup from you.

  • Partially accepted pieces not showing in preview — If a gallery accepted some of your submitted pieces but not others, the accepted ones weren't always showing up in the entry preview. That's resolved now.

  • Old CV stuck on your profile — Some artists couldn't remove an old resume or CV file from their profile. The remove button looked like it worked, but the file stayed. That's fixed. Go check your profile if you've been dealing with this.

  • Off-platform payment link showing too early — For calls that use payment links outside of EntryThingy, the pay link was appearing before an entry was fully complete. It now waits until your entry is ready. This prevents confusion and potential payment errors.
