What's New on EntryThingy: May 2026

By EntryThingy Team

A busy week on the platform. We shipped several changes that make finding opportunities easier, submitting less stressful, and getting into your account simpler. Here's what's new.

Finding the Right Opportunities Just Got Easier

When you browse open calls, EntryThingy now automatically filters by the mediums you work in. If you've set your medium preferences in your profile, you'll see a tailored list the moment you arrive — no extra clicks needed. A small notice will tell you the filter is active, and you can dismiss it or adjust it anytime.

Your weekly recommendation emails also got smarter. Opportunities hosted directly on EntryThingy now show up first, so the calls you see are more likely to be a great fit.

  • Artists: Make sure your medium preferences are up to date so the filter works in your favor.

Submitting Feels Less Stressful

A few small but meaningful changes to the submission experience this week.

The entry fee now appears at the top of the application page, before you fill anything out. No surprises at the end. You'll also see a progress bar as you work through your submission, so you always know where you stand.

Right before you hit submit, there's now a short reassurance note explaining exactly what happens next. And if something goes wrong during payment — like a PayPal window that closes unexpectedly — you'll see a clear option to try again instead of a spinner that just keeps going.

The save footer also got a small but important fix: it used to say "Remember to save your progress" even though the page was already saving automatically. Now it reflects what's actually happening.

  • Artists: Next time you apply, look for the fee summary at the top and the progress bar as you go. If payment ever stalls, look for the "try again" option rather than waiting.

Log In Without a Password

You can now sign in to EntryThingy with a magic link — just enter your email and we'll send you a link that logs you straight in. No password required. This is especially handy if you can't remember which password you used or just want a faster way in.

New artists will also see a welcome banner after signing up, so you know you're in the right place and what to do first.

  • Artists: Try the magic link option next time you log in at entrythingy.com.

For Galleries: Fixes That Unblock Your Work

Two issues that were quietly causing frustration for galleries are now resolved.

If your gallery uses Square for payments, your pricing tiers now display correctly on the call setup page — they were previously invisible for Square-only accounts.

Also, if you run non-juried calls and had leftover jury settings from a previous call, those old settings were sometimes blocking you from saving. That's fixed. You can save your call without jury settings interfering.

  • Galleries: If you've been running into trouble saving a call or setting up pricing, give it another try. And if you're new to EntryThingy, look for the onboarding call invite — it's now much easier to spot on your dashboard.
