We've been busy making EntryThingy work better for everyone. This week brought some exciting new features for galleries and important improvements that make submitting artwork smoother for artists.
New Gallery Showcase Controls
Your Artist Showcase widget just got more flexible. We added two new settings that let you customize how visitors experience your selected artwork.
Hide artist statements: You can now choose to hide the artist's profile statement from the artwork detail page in your embedded widget. Perfect for galleries that want the focus purely on the visual work.
Open full-size images directly: Enable this setting and clicking a thumbnail takes visitors straight to the full-size image overlay, skipping the artist profile page entirely. Great for showcases where you want immediate visual impact.
Try it now: Head to your call settings and look for the new Artist Showcase options. Both settings work together, so you can mix and match based on your exhibition's goals.
Clearer Artwork Upload Forms
We made the piece upload form much clearer after hearing from artists who were confused about what goes where.
The Title field now has better guidance to help artists understand it's for the artwork title (not a description). The Description field is clearly marked for longer artist statements about the piece.
We also fixed a frustrating bug where the upload form would get stuck spinning if something went wrong on our end. Now it recovers gracefully and lets you try again.
For artists: Next time you upload a piece, you'll see the improved labels. Take a moment to put your artwork title in the Title field and save longer descriptions for the Description area.
Better Payment Experience
We've made several behind-the-scenes improvements to make sure your entry fees process correctly every time.
The platform now catches pricing configuration errors before they can cause problems. We also improved how international currencies work with PayPal payments, so artists outside the US should see more accurate pricing.
What this means: Whether you're an artist submitting to calls or a gallery collecting entry fees, the payment process should be more reliable and transparent.
These updates are all live now. If you run into any issues or have questions about the new features, reach out to our support team. We're always listening for ways to make EntryThingy work better for the art community.
