Platform Updates: April 2024

By EntryThingy Team

This week brought some exciting updates to make your life easier, whether you're running a gallery or submitting work as an artist. Let's dive into what's new.

We've made big improvements to how galleries handle their entry downloads.

Choose Your Dimension Format: Galleries can now pick how artwork dimensions appear in downloads. Want "Height × Width × Depth" instead of our default "Width × Height × Depth"? No problem. Find this new setting in your gallery preferences under "Dimension order in downloads."

Better File Organization: When you download images, they now start with the artist's last name. So instead of seeing random entry numbers, your files will sort alphabetically by artist - exactly how most galleries want to review submissions.

Partial Acceptances Fixed: If you've been using "partially accepted" entries, those pieces will now properly show up when you filter downloads by "Accepted" status. No more missing artwork in your final review packages.

Ready to try it? Head to your gallery dashboard and check out the new dimension preferences. Download a test package to see the improved file naming in action.

Smoother Artist Submissions

Artists submitting booth photos or display shots no longer get stuck with confusing error messages. We removed the description requirement for these types of images since most calls don't actually need written descriptions for setup photos.

If you're an artist: Your booth and display submissions should now go through without any unexpected roadblocks.

Instagram Posts That Actually Make Sense

Our automated Instagram posts now vary based on what type of opportunity we're sharing. Posts about residencies look different from exhibition calls. Free opportunities get different messaging than paid ones. And we fixed that broken emoji that was showing up on some posts.

The result? More engaging social media that actually tells people what they need to know about each opportunity.

Follow us on Instagram to see these improved posts in action - they should feel much more natural and informative.

Better Support Behind the Scenes

We've upgraded our customer support system to give you faster, more accurate help. The AI that drafts initial responses now better understands different types of calls and payment methods, so you'll get more relevant answers right away.

Need help? Reach out as usual - you should notice quicker, more helpful responses.
