Platform Updates: April 2026

By EntryThingy Team

We've been busy making EntryThingy work better for you. This week brought faster file uploads, smarter jurying tools, and a dashboard that actually tells artists what they need to know.

Instant Image Uploads (Finally!)

Remember waiting for that upload modal every time you added artwork? Gone.

Now your images upload the moment you drop them in. No more clicking through metadata forms before your files even start uploading. Just drag, drop, and watch them go.

What changed: The old system made you fill out titles and descriptions before uploading began. The new system uploads first, then lets you edit details inline.

Try it: Head to any application and add some artwork. You'll see the difference immediately.

Jurors asked for more control over what they see. We delivered.

The new "Partially Voted" filter shows entries where you've voted on some pieces but not others. Perfect for those multi-piece submissions where you got interrupted halfway through.

We also fixed the progress counter. When you filter by category or search for specific work, the progress bar now shows "15 of 30 pieces voted" instead of confusing you with the total count.

What this means: Less time hunting for unfinished votes. More time actually jurying.

Use it: In any active jury, look for the new filter options in your dropdown menus.

Artist Dashboard That Makes Sense

The old dashboard was pretty but useless. Artists couldn't see their application status. They had no idea what to do next.

The new dashboard puts your recent applications front and center. Submitted, accepted, rejected - it's all there with clear status badges. No more emailing us to ask "did my application go through?"

We also redesigned the draft applications section. Instead of a giant banner taking up half your screen, you get a clean list of what needs finishing.

What you'll see: Your application status right when you log in. Clear next steps for incomplete applications.

Check it out: Log into your artist account. The difference is obvious.

Upload Flow That Actually Works

We simplified the whole artwork upload process. The booth photo selector is now obvious (artists were constantly confused about this). File uploads happen instantly. And we fixed those annoying validation errors that popped up at weird times.

The result: Less support emails from confused artists. Fewer abandoned applications. More art in the system.

Next time you apply: Notice how much smoother everything feels from start to finish.

These changes came from your feedback. Keep telling us what's broken, what's confusing, and what's missing. We're listening.
