Platform Updates: March 2026

By EntryThingy Team

This week brought some powerful improvements to make your experience smoother. We focused on the tools you use most: jury walls, file uploads, and opportunity alerts.

Better Jury Experience for Galleries

Jurying just got more flexible. You can now bulk vote on just some categories instead of having to score every single one before applying votes. Perfect for when you want to quickly rate technical skill across multiple entries without scoring conceptual strength yet.

We also fixed the jury wall search. Before, if you searched for an artist name, cleared it, then changed a filter, the old search would mysteriously reappear. Now when you clear a search, it stays cleared.

Try it out: Next time you're reviewing entries, use the bulk voting feature to score just the categories you're ready to evaluate.

Smarter Medium Alerts for Artists

Your opportunity alerts now include more specific medium options. We added mosaic, pastel, and works on paper as separate choices. Plus, mixed media now splits into 2D mixed media and 3D mixed media so you get more relevant opportunities.

If you were auto-categorized as working in paper goods, apparel, leather, or apothecary, your alerts will now map to the closest available option instead of dropping your medium entirely.

Action step: Check your alert preferences to make sure your medium selections match your current work.

File Upload Improvements

We fixed a gap in our upload system. The platform was showing minimum file size requirements to artists but wasn't actually enforcing them. Now it properly checks both minimum and maximum file sizes when you upload.

This means cleaner submissions for galleries and fewer surprises for artists.

What this means: Your uploads will be validated more thoroughly, so you'll know right away if a file is too small or large.

Newsletter Personalization for Galleries

Gallery admins can now use a BUSINESSNAME merge tag in newsletter emails. This pulls each artist's business name from their profile, making your communications more personal and professional.

Get started: Add {BUSINESSNAME} to your next Buttondown newsletter template to automatically include each recipient's business name.

These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to making EntryThingy work better for both artists and galleries. Keep the feedback coming – it drives everything we build.
