Platform Updates: January 2026

By EntryThingy Team

We've been busy this week making EntryThingy better for both artists and galleries. Here's what's new and improved.

Custom Questions Just Got More Powerful

Gallery organizers, you can now add custom questions at the piece level. This means you can ask specific questions about each artwork, not just the overall entry.

Want to know the medium for each piece? Or ask about installation requirements for every artwork? Now you can. These piece-level questions show up in your admin views and all your download formats.

What to do: Head to your call form and check out the new custom questions options. Try adding a piece-level question to your next call.

Cleaner Call Management

We made the call editing page less scary. That red "delete this call" danger zone? It's now tucked away under a dropdown. You won't see it unless you click to open it.

No more accidentally staring at the delete button every time you save changes to your call.

What to do: Edit any of your calls and notice how much calmer the page feels.

Artist Showcase Gets an Upgrade

Your Artist Showcase is getting smarter. We've added all the display options that were in the old system - things like showing titles and descriptions. Plus, we're working on a brand new showcase builder that will make embedding your calls on other websites super easy.

The Artist Showcase now works seamlessly with both our old and new systems. If you're using Artist Showcase, everything should work exactly the same, just better behind the scenes.

What to do: Check your existing showcases to make sure they're still looking good. If you want to try new display options, reach out to support.

More Art Opportunities Coming Your Way

We added a new source for public art opportunities - CODAworx. This means more commissions from airports, transit agencies, and municipalities will show up in your opportunity feeds.

What to do: Keep an eye on your opportunity emails. You might see some new public art commissions that weren't there before.
