Platform Updates: January 2026

By EntryThingy Team

We've been busy making EntryThingy work better for you. Here's what's new this week.

Custom Questions Are Here

Galleries can now add their own questions to applications. No more trying to squeeze everything into the artist statement box.

Want to know about an artist's inspiration? Their process? Their favorite color? Just add a custom question and get the answers you need.

For galleries: Head to your call settings to start adding questions. Keep them clear and specific.

For artists: You'll see these questions when you apply. Take your time with thoughtful answers – they help galleries understand your work better.

Video Artists Get Duration Support

Uploading video work just got easier. You can now add duration instead of physical dimensions.

Before, video artists had to awkwardly list dimensions that didn't make sense. Now you can simply say "3 minutes 45 seconds" and move on.

Try it out: When you upload your next video piece, look for the duration option in the dimensions field. Pick minutes and seconds, then enter your time.

Better Image Guidelines

We've updated our promo image guidelines to help your calls look their best. The sweet spot is 1200x630 pixels in landscape format – think banner, not square.

This 16:9 ratio works great across all platforms and looks professional in our listings.

For galleries: Update your call images using these new dimensions. Your opportunities will stand out more in our feed and social media shares.

Have questions about any of these updates? Just reply to this email or check our help docs. We're always here to help you make the most of EntryThingy.
