We've been busy this week making EntryThingy work better for you. Here's what's new for artists and galleries.
Artists: Smoother Applications
Auto-save is here. When you upload images, we now save your entry info automatically. No more losing your work if something goes wrong during upload.
See call instructions while you work. You can now view the call's instructions right on the application page. Click "View Call Instructions" to see details like "photo #1 for PR, photo #5 for booth" without leaving your application.
Try it out: Start a new application and look for the collapsible instructions section at the top of the page.
Better application sorting. Your "My Applications" page now sorts by deadline properly. The most urgent deadlines appear first.
Cleaner previews. When you preview how your entry looks, we removed jury scoring info that you don't need to see. The preview now shows exactly what matters to you as an artist.
Galleries: Payment Setup Made Clear
PayPal warnings that actually help. If your PayPal button won't send payment notifications to EntryThingy, you'll now see a clear warning instead of a confusing "No issues detected" message.
More pricing tiers. PayPal tier pricing now goes up to 10 pieces instead of 6. Perfect for larger exhibitions or group shows.
Check your PayPal settings: Go to your call's payment setup and make sure you see "No issues detected" instead of any warnings.
Hide finished calls from public view. New toggle lets you hide a call's public page once your show is over. Artists who already applied can still see their submissions, but new visitors won't find the call.
Test with demo artists easier. We added a "Test the Artist Experience" card on your call pages. Use artist@demo.com / demo123 to see exactly what artists see when they apply.
Better Discovery for Everyone
Smarter call recommendations. We now show specialized calls (like "ceramics only") before general open calls in recommendations. Physical exhibitions also rank higher than online-only shows.
City-based browsing. You can now browse calls by major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Find opportunities near you faster.
Faster loading. We fixed some behind-the-scenes issues that were slowing down the platform. Everything should feel snappier now.
