One feature that has long been requested on EntryThingy is the ability for galleries to upload images specific to their call. This can be a promotional graphic, a prior year award winner, something that represents what your gallery does, or just more information on what the call is about!
Why Does This Matter?
Simply put, it is a great way for galleries to market their call. Previously, we would only post promotional images that were sent to us on our Instagram (which has always been free for people hosting their call on EntryThingy). However, those images were not utilized when viewing the calls list or viewing a specific call for EntryThingy on our website. We have now improved this!
How Do I Add an Image?
During the call creation flow (or when editing an existing call), you will see an area where you can click on a button titled Upload Image. Once you do that, that image will render on the card on the calls list, and it will also appear like a header when you view the link specific to your call.
FAQ / Tips
- Upload a promotional graphic that is specific to that call
- While generic images (e.g. a watercolour painting with no words on it) can often be better than nothing, they don't inform the viewer of anything directly relevant to your actual call
- Have some text that highlights key deadlines or other details, but don't make it too crowded!
- Use a standard square or rectangle sized graphic. Funky shapes may not render as well as you had pictured!
- Send out the link to your call listing! If you have a distribution list, make sure artists know that your show is live and accepting entries. Plus, now that you have a fancy graphic, it will look even more professional and inviting
